Predictions from the Fritzsch-type Lepton Mass Matrices
We revisit the Fritzsch-type lepton mass matrix models confronted with new experiments for neutrino mixings. It is shown that the model is viable and leads to a rather narrow range of free parameters. Using empirical mixing information between ν e and ν µ , and between ν µ and ν τ , it is predicted that the mixing angle between ν e and ν τ is in the range 0.04 < |U 13 | < 0.20, consistent with ...
متن کاملLattice simulations of the strange quark mass and Fritzsch texture
A number of numerical simulations of lattice gauge theory have indicated a low mass of strange quark in 100 MeV range at the scale of μ = 2 GeV. In the unquenched case, which is improved over the simulation in the quenched approximation by the inclusion of u and d sea quark effects, one sees a further downward trend. Here the fermion mass spectrum of the Fritzsch texture is recalculated. In a s...
متن کاملNon-Hermitian Fritzsch-Type Quark Mass Matrix Expressed by the Observable Quantities
For the non-Hermitian Fritzsch-type mass matrix (M̃u, M̃d), which is a general expression of quark mass matrices, the rephasing-gauge dependency and δ-dependency (where Vub = |Vub|e) of each matrix element M̃qij (q = u, d; i, j = 1, 2, 3) are investigated. We find that the textures of (M̃u, M̃d) depend on the rephasing gauge and we can always take M̃u32 = 0 without losing generality, so that the rema...
متن کامل1 99 2 Heavy Top Quark From Fritzsch Mass
It is shown, contrary to common belief, that the Fritzsch ansatz for the quark mass matrices admits a heavy top quark. With the ansatz prescribed at the supersymmetric grand unified (GUT) scale, one finds that the top quark may be as heavy as 145 GeV, provided that tanβ (the ratio of the vacuum expectation values of the two higgs doublets) ≫ 1. Within a non-supersymmetric GUT framework with two...
متن کاملA new ansatz: Fritzsch Mass Matrices with least modification
We investigate how the Fritzsch ansatz for the quark mass matrices can be modified in the least possible way to accommodate the observed large top quark mass and the measured values of the CKM elements. As one of the solutions, we find that the {23} and the {32} elements of the up quark mass matrix are unequal. The rest of the assumptions are same as in Fritzsch ansatz. In this formalism we hav...
